Trendstop: Denim Première Vision Overview SS 2017

Published
Nov 25, 2015

This week, the Trendstop team stepped into the Mansion of Denim at the Spring/Summer 2017 edition of Denim PV, held at the Fira Mont Juic in Barcelona. As always, the show hosted a theme that ran through the event, with this edition fully embracing the summer season; bathing in a Californian atmosphere with an array of sun-bleached dyes and sand soaked textures. Visitors walked through succulents and cacti in a luxurious mansion set-up which saw water fountains and ornate fireplaces frame a collection of wall-hung denim pieces, setting the scene for the four trend areas which explored the newest compositions and finishes.

The exhibitors hall saw over 80 specialists from weavers, manufacturers and trimmings companies where innovative textures were key. Brands such as Blue Farm were experimenting weaving with steel, whilst Unitin – Industrias Morera SA were using new compositions such as linen blends for the ultimate lightweight finish.

Elsewhere, brands such as Toray International and Mesura Tekstil looked to update the season with new silhouettes where inspirations from the East came across through both shape and print. The universal focus was on intensifying colour, where the show saw all shades of indigo from 70’s sky blue to almost black saturations.
