Trendstop: Key Color Trends Hot off the Runways SS 2016

Published
Nov 9, 2015

Following our Print & Pattern on the Catwalks feature last week, the Trendstop team have since compiled an essential guide to the most inspiring and directional colours emerging in Spring/Summer 2016 fashion. Pinpointed on the front row of every influential ready-to-wear designer show in the world’s fashion capitals, new season collections reveal a palette of fresh new shades to update apparel, accessories and footwear with a forward and contemporary appeal. This week, we present our blog readers with three directional color trends, each taken from the Fashion Colours, Core Colours and Accents groups for Spring/Summer 2016. New color directions include a focus on softened pastels and refined neutrals, as summer darks demonstrate their versatile appeal. Meanwhile, collections are uplifted with energetic bursts of fiery brights.

Apricot Nude

A peach-tinted nude Fashion Color evolves with a warm cast to bring a delicately feminine shade to collections. Casual shapes in lightweight fabrics express a newfound chic, adding a second-skin feel to apparel with its pale skin tint. Layers of delicate sheers enhance the shade’s romantic dimension.

Deep Ink Denim

Classic denim blue is updated with a new dimension of depth this season, emerging as one of summer’s key Core Colors. This dark, inky infusion refreshes styles with a deep indigo shade for added sophistication. A refined shade for day, applications include manipulated stretch jersey and relaxed utility wear, as white contrasts lend a sportive touch to footwear.

Magma Orange

Making a vibrant addition to the Accents palette, vivid orange is concentrated with a molten intensity for spring. The result is a heated colour that inspires a sense of energy. From sportswear looks and futuristic eyewear to elegant chiffon dresses, new season designs make an impactful statement.
