Livetrend: Business Casual Trend - Pre-Fall 22

Published
Mar 14, 2022

After the pandemic, a business casual trend is taking over to relieve women from formal, narrow workwear ideals as they are returning to offices again. The Pre-Fall 2022 shows present new silhouettes that are shaping a more relaxed look. Now, versatility is crucial for everyday outfits. Styles, which can transform from workplaces to social gatherings and transcend throughout the year are a must.

Business Casual relates to layering styles, accompanied by dresses on pants, which increased by +13%, knitted multi-occasion dresses that grew by +7% and comfy wide leg fits that showed a stable +10% growth. With neutral tones, growing solidly at +21%, the elevated luxe and lounge look is manifesting to be one of the new core aesthetics for elevated essential collections. Their distinct luxury feel allows consumers to feel special and appropriately dressed, no matter the occasion.  The comfort of business casual is addressing contemporary women who are seeking for a liberated body, not in a show-off, but feel-good kind of way. While a sleek and minimal look can feel feminine with appropriate drape and belt details, an empowered androgyny can be based on strong tailoring elements. In both cases, the necessity for versatile office styles manifests as omnipresent. Big houses to independent designers make sure to provide these new staples and get their women ready to conquer their lives again.
