Bottom Wear Trends - Spring/Summer 2022 (Fashion for Breakfast)

Published
Jun 14, 2021

Let’s dive into the vast world of the skirts and trousers that we will don in the warm season of 2022.
Modern touches, new lengths and sartorial lines will fill our spring/summer 2022 wardrobe so we can dress with style.

Let’s start with the trousers, that range from sexy and youthful models to more sporty versions that seem to come from men's wear.
Low waist shorts, for example, belong to the former category and become the key item for ultra feminine looks. In fact the new shorts distinguished by mini lengths that show off legs and let you play with modern layering, feature a very low waist that reveals your navel and are perfect for a daring summer look.

Moving on to numerous volumes and occasions we have the sartorial cargo bermuda which, as the term suggests, combines utility elements and elegant and clean sartorial lines, in a perfect balance. Bermudas, typically part of men’s leisure wear, lose their purely sporty connotation and combine neutral colours, utility elements and sartorial lines suited for a minimal style.
Let’s move on to skirts and discover how the prime symbol of femininity evolves in the S/S season 22.

First we have the low waist mini skirt, the skirt’s answer to mini shorts, characterised by a very low waist, sometimes embellished by modern variations and new lines that play with empty and full spaces. There is great variety of details: from patchwork to textured applications, and even logos.

With a total change in style, we have the shirred slim skirt, more elegant and suited for important and sensual looks. Tight and hyper feminine thanks to its fitted line that follows the shape of the body, it is even more sensual with the asymmetric patterns created by the distinguishing gather (side or central) which opens slits in the fabric and creates draping with the gathers.
