Scoop partners with Alexa Chung's Villoid

A selection of designers hand-picked by Villoid will showcase at the next edition of London trade fair Scoop in January as part of a new partnership between the event and Alexa Chung.

The deal aims to support emerging designers and provide them with highly coveted space at the UK’s leading boutique trade show. The brands said this will be the beginning of a long-term joint effort to promote young talent.

The partnership was announced by Scoop in its AW18 online magazine.

Scoop founder Karen Radley, said: “Offering a platform for young brands is part of our DNA, and our partnership with Villoid will give the designers exposure to a new audience, including an important network of buyers and retailers that can make a real difference to a relatively young business.”

Chung, who expanded Villoid into a ‘hyper curated’ shopping platform in December, added:  “I love the thought that there’s a whole generation of talented kids out there, at universities and art schools. We don’t know who they are yet, but there’s the next Donatella or Coco sitting at a sewing machine right now with bleeding fingertips. Villoid can give them the platform to reach their potential.”

Brands that are popular on Villoid, such as Milk Tooth LDN and New York-based label Veda will be among those showcasing at Scoop London this month.

The next edition of the trade show will take place on 28-30 January at the Saatchi Gallery.
