Yang Yang makes his debut in Dunhill SS21 campaign

Richemont’s British luxury label Dunhill has launched its spring/summer 2021 campaign this week with a close like to its heritage as it uses London as its inspiration.

But what's important as well is that for the first time the brand’s new global ambassador, Chinese actor Yang Yang, is featured. The company said he “exudes a quiet sophistication and integrity that sets him apart, reflecting the spirit and values of the house today”. What's key here is the acknowledgment of the importance of the Chinese market and the influence of Chinese celebrities around the world.

Called A Machine For Living, the brand said that the campaign comes from “the architecture of clothing and accessories together with the cityscape of London”.

Creative director Mark Weston said the collection is “almost a new view of workwear” and that the campaign invokes a romantic view of the world, while parallels are drawn between London's architecture and its tailoring traditions.

It also combines a celebration of both old and new conventions with the tradition that can be seen in much of the product produced by the brand, also mixing with a more modern approach in a “very British way”.
