UK's Scoop announces new brands for August edition

Published
May 27, 2015

Scoop, the UK-based tradeshow that earlier this year announced it is launching a new show, Scoop London, for autumn, has revealed a number of designers who will take part in its August edition.

The list contains a number of exciting European designers, as well as some new UK names. Denmark is represented by designer Charlotte Spaare, who began by selling silk scarves and now has a complete clothing collection, and Coster Copenhagen, a Danish fashion brand that targets women aged 25-40.

From Amsterdam comes Marcha Hüskes, whose womenswear is based on classic silhouettes with a twist and whose clothes can be worn for any occasion. The other new European names are Spain's Sita Murt and two well-known French brands, Antik Batik and Sud Express.

The UK is naturally well represented. This year, four new British-based brands will display their collections at Scoop. Sophie Cranston, the British womenswear designer who set up Temperley with Alice Temperley, is bringing her brand Libelula, which now also offers wedding and bridesmaid dresses, to the show.

Also showing are Conditions Apply, who make fun, hand-made clothes, accessories and bags, and Bristol-based family business Peregrine. Unlike many of the other brands, Peregrine's knitwear is made for both men and women.

Finally, the last new UK brand to be announced is contemporary lifestyle label Variety, which makes swim, resort and activewear for women. The label's clothes combine the attitude of California ease with elegant European style.

Scoop takes place on August 2-4 at London's Saatchi Gallery.
