A management shakeup is underway at Tous. The luxury jewellery firm has made three senior appointments following the departure of its managing director Jose Maria Folache in February, who was replaced by commercial director Carlos Soler Duffo.

Marta Tous is Tous' new artistic director - Tous

Now the company has announced that Marta Tous, R&D director since 2006, has been named as artistic director. In her former role she had already overseen the design and production of the brand’s jewellery and accessories collections, and the new position will see her become responsible for leading the company’s artistic direction whilst strengthening the brand identity. Marta Tous joined the business in 1994 after completing a degree in jewellery design at Madrid’s Official School of Jewellers. She is also a member of the Official Association of Jewelers, Goldsmiths, Watchmakers and Gemologists of Catalonia.

Rosa Oriol will remain as creative director, overseeing the exclusive Rosa Atelier Tous collection.

Meanwhile, Eva Gallego, currently director of the brand’s accessories division, will lead the jewellery, handbags and accessories teams in terms of design, product and purchasing as new product manager. The former director of women’s shoes and accessories at Zara joined Tous in November last year.

Giordano Reffatto has been appointed as global sales director with responsibility for the company’s retail, wholesale and travel retail businesses. He will work alongside digital business director Carolina de la Calzada. The executive, who joined the company in November, has over ten years of experience working with brands including Intimissimi, Nike and Camper.

Set to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2020, Tous is backed by Swiss private equity firm Partners Group, which acquired a 25% stake in 2015. The company made revenues of 446 million euros in 2017, up 10.6% on the previous year, and has a presence in over 50 countries through 700 stores.
