In his new role, Villet will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Tory Burch’s operations in the APAC region and will report to the company’s CEO Pierre-Yves Roussel. His appointment is effective December 28.

Villet most recently served as president for Asia at One in Beauty, the entity resulting from the combination of the Revlon and Arden brands. During his time at the company, Elizabeth Arden became the seventh most popular prestige brand on Chinese e-commerce platforms.

Before joining One in Beauty, Villet was the chairman and co-founder of Mei.com, a Chinese flash sales retailer specialized in fashion and luxury products. Mei.com was acquired by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba in 2015.

The executive’s previous experience also includes a two-year stint at Coach, where he served as the company’s first president for Greater China. Prior to this, he held the roles of VP for China and VP for Japan at the L’Oréal Group.

“The development of our business in Asia is a strategic priority for us,” said Roussel in a statement. “Recruiting an executive with Thibault’s depth of experience is a testament to our continued commitment to the region. His entrepreneurial mindset and impressive track record in our industry make him a natural fit and a welcome addition to our team.”

“I have long admired Tory Burch as a purpose-led company, for its iconic, beautiful designs and for the superior quality of its products,” added Villet. “The company’s growth in the APAC region has been impressive, and I am excited about working with the team and building on the brand’s extraordinary strengths.”

Having opened its first APAC boutique in 2010, Tory Burch currently boasts some 146 stores in the region, spread over countries including China, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore and Australia.
