Tom Ford to dress Daniel Craig in latest James Bond movie

Published

Tom Ford has scored a repeat marketing coup with news that the label has dressed James Bond in the upcoming action adventure No Time To DieDaniel Craig is back in the title role of the movie that opens in cinemas globally starting on April 2.

Importantly too, given the fact that Tom Ford also makes womenswear, is news that the label has also dressed the new female character Nomi, played by Lashana Lynch. She’ll be seen in tailor-made jackets, tops and accessories, including his eyewear.

It’s the fourth time that Ford has dressed Craig for a Bond movie and means hundreds of millions of people worldwide will see his suits in action this spring.

Ford worked closely with the film’s costume designer Suttirat Anne Larlarb to provide both bespoke tailored clothing and casualwear including eveningwear, suits, shirts, silk accessories and denim for the James Bond character.

Movies remain an important publicity channel for brands and can have a significant impact on sales. In recent years, for instance, the spoof action-spy movie series Kingsman has seen major fashion activity with signature fashion lines and even fragrances.

In 2017, Mr Porter opened a Kingsman shop in London to showcase the luxury menswear collection it created for the Kingsman movies. And last year, the e-tailer’s ongoing collaboration with filmmaker Matthew Vaughn saw it launching fashion product linked to the Elton John biopic Rocketman.
