The Row will launch first menswear collection this October

The Row, the apparel brand founded in 2006 by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, has announced that its first menswear collection will launch this October. The collection will be available in both its Los Angeles and New York flagship stores, as well as in select retailers globally.

The collection will include a variety of shirts, jackets, trousers, denim and knitwear, and accessories like billfolds, ties and shoes. In a press release, The Row said that this menswear collection "echoes the dedication to craftsmanship, exceptional fabrics and fine tailoring" that the brand has gained a reputation for in alignment with its namesake, Saville Row – the London street famed for its luxurious bespoke tailoring for men.

The Row won the CFDA Fashion Award for Accessory Designer of the Year this past June, keeping expectations high for both consumers and industry insiders. Known for its painstaking approach to making quality women's clothing and accessories, the brand's disregard for fashion timelines sets it apart in the industry. Compared to its contemporaries, The Row stands out for pushing against "today's prevailing influence of fast-fashion," said Barneys New York Chief Merchandising Officer Jennifer Sunwoo to The Wall Street Journal.

The brand has previously launched two distinct menswear capsules, but this will be The Row's first full collection of men's apparel, which is only now being given a tentative release date after a two-year development period.

The brand claims that its founders took their time selecting manufacturers for each of the collection's pieces: The Row's menswear denim and t-shirts are made in the United States, the dress shirts in France, and the jackets in Japan. The pieces are priced accordingly, with tags ranging in the thousands (suits, for example, are priced from $3,950 to $5,795).
