Symrise establishes stronger presence in India

Symrise, a German group specialised in flavours and scents, has strengthened its position in India and the Asia-Pacific region, after the recent opening of a design and development centre in Mumbai. The new facility, complementary to the one operating in Chennai, is notably focused on scents and skincare, a market enjoying booming growth in the region.

"This investment is designed to improve our collaboration and connection with our clients, consumers and partners. It will also allow us to develop perfumes, flavours for dental hygiene products and cosmetics ingredients," said Jun Saplad, President of Symrise Scents and Skincare for the Asia-Pacific, Africa, Middle East and Turkey region.

A year ago, Symrise boosted its presence in the Middle East by opening a site in Iran's capital Tehran, called Symrise Persian. It features commercial offices, allowing the group to develop products that are well-suited to the requirements of Persian Gulf customers.

In 2016, Symrise reached a revenue of €2.9 billion, having posted a 15% growth in emerging markets.
