Strenesse appoints Natalie Acatrini as Creative Director

Published
Feb 1, 2013

After Luca Strehle took over from his father, Gerd, as CEO of Strenesse in 2012, his mother, Gabriele Strehle is leaving the company. Taking her place is new creative director Natalie Acatrini.

Natalie Acatrini. - Strenesse

Acatrini will oversee all Strenesse collections as well as its homeware goods. The designer had worked as a freelance consultant since 2006, but names of brands that she worked with have not been disclosed.

Natalie Acatrini studied in France at the école de la chambre syndicale de la couture at the start of the 1970’s. Throughout her career in Germany, the designer was the Head of Design at Jil Sander from 1979 to 1990. During the same period, she freelanced at René Lézard and Otto Kern, before joining joining Wolfgang Ley in 1990 to found Escada. She then worked at Black by Hugo Boss for four years. The stakes are high for the designer at Escada. As well as taking over from Gabriele Strehle, the management is hoping the designer will be able to boost revenue and international growth.
