Soul Salon to kick off second edition 21-22 January 2018

On 21 and 22 January 2018, the second edition of Amsterdam-based trade show Soul Salon will take place. Soul Salon focuses on future trends and sustainable fashion. The trade show is designed to offer retailers inspiration regarding current developments in the fashion and retail market.

Soul Salon will take place at Westergasfabriek, a venue that is also home to Amsterdam Fashion Week and Amsterdam Denim Days. This year’s speakers are: Ellen Mensink, founder Brightloops; Ellen Haeser, trendwatcher and fashion consultant; and Chanel Trapman, a fashion blogger.

In addition to talks, the winter edition will also consist of events such as a panel discussion that includes Linnemore Nefdt, circular fashion concepts and design consultant; Lotte Schuurman, Fair Wear Foundation; and Feico van der Veen, founder Polylana and Summit Company. On 21 January, Soul Salon will also host the Storytelling Awards as part of the trade show.

More than 100 sustainable fashion brands will be on view at the Soul Salon exhibition, including: Anitpode, By Biek, Elements of Freedom, Granny’s Finest, Hobo Shoes, Komodo, Miab Jewels, RioDesign, Swedish Stockings and Zazu Amsterdam.

Soul Salon debuted in July 2017 with 60 participating brands. The event takes place twice a year, in January and July. The sustainable fashion trade show was founded by Cécile Scheele, who also serves as Creative Director. Soul Salon is organized by Powering Sustainable Fashion, initiator of Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week and Dutch Retail Experience Awards and owner of web platform InspiringStories.nl, agency Goodbrandz and consultancy MSL Fashion Forward.

As Soul Salon takes place simultaneously with trade event Modefabriek, there will be a shuttle service available from Amsterdam Rai to Westergasfabriek.
