Japanese cosmetics group Shiseido announced in a press release that Louis Desazars, since 2015 the group's CEO for the EMEA region, has stepped down to "dedicate himself to personal projects." The EMEA region is at the heart of Shiseido's growth strategy.

Louis Desazars has left the Shiseido group - Shiseido

Louis Desazars started his career at Christian Dior Parfums, as the Export Manager of the Middle East and Australasia regions. In 1996 he joined Beauté Prestige International (BPI), Shiseido's fragrance subsidiary - now part of the Shiseido Group's EMEA business unit - as Vice-President Europe. He later become CEO of BPI in the USA. From 2008 to 2015, Louis Desazars was in charge of make-up brand Nars Cosmetics, also owned by Shiseido.

After being appointed CEO of Shiseido EMEA, Louis Desazars was instrumental in the signing of a licence deal with Dolce & Gabbana. A new CEO will be shortly appointed in Desazars' place. For the time being, the transition period will be managed by Eric Henry, the group's EMEA CBO.

The Japanese group stated that, despite these changes, its objectives remain the same: to turn the group into one of the top five players in the prestige segment in the EMEA region, and to carve out a 9% share in the world perfume market.
