Rossignol opens first New York boutique

Published
Jan 10, 2020

French ski equipment and apparel brand Rossignol has opened its premiere New York boutique in SoHo, a pop-up located at 108 Wooster Street.

Tommy Hilfiger x Rossignol

Opened on December 12, the New York store focuses on a “mountain-to-city,” après-ski-themed aesthetic and offers a wide variety of the 112-year-old brand’s apparel offering. Inside, customers can shop Rossignol’s full range of clothes and accessories, including technical equipment, skiwear and urbanwear, the brand’s ‘Sport Chic’ and ‘Après Ski’ apparel collections, and pieces from Rossignol’s collaborations with Tommy Hilfiger and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.

The SoHo store follows the debut of Rossignol’s first U.S. storefront in Aspen, Colorado in winter 2018.

“We are incredibly excited to introduce New York to a unique brand experience that celebrates the history of the Rossignol brand,” said Francois Goulet, president of Rossignol Group North America.

“New York City and the SoHo district have such strong ties to the fashion world.”

Outside of the U.S., Rossignol operates stores throughout France, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Austria and China.

A world-leading ski equipment producer, Rossignol first began a serious pursuit of a spot in the fashion market in 2015, when it hired former Pierre Balmain executive, Alessandro Locatelli to help build the brand into a competitor against outdoor-chic brands like Moncler. Since then, the brand has collaborated with the likes of Tommy Hilfiger and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, as well as Italian designer Andrea Pompilio, and has expanded its product offering through an eyewear debut with luxury glasses brand, Italia Independent

On a broader scale, parent company Rossignol Group has strengthened its portfolio in recent years with the acquisitions of U.S. bicycle manufacturer, Felt, outdoor and performance equipment brand, Raidlight, and Dale of Norway
