Launching in partnership with Tencel and design software CLO, the 2021 event will champion digitally designed and sustainably produced fashion, while highlighting fashion’s next generation. This edition will spotlight three sustainable themes including regeneration, circularity and decarbonization.

Described as the “most innovative global sustainable contest for young and established designers to experiment with virtual design technologies”, the contest will run until August 23rd and for the first time will be open to all aged 18 and over. The winner will be selected at the competition’s close by a panel of judges, and will be unveiled shortly after, at the RCGD event due to take place in Los Angeles in September.

This year’s judges include Suzy Amis Cameron, founder of Red Carpet Green Dress; Harold Weghorst, vice president of global marketing & branding, Lenzing AG, Micaela Erlanger, celebrity fashion stylist; and Abrima Erwiah, co-founder of One Eighty Nine.

The winning designs, will be constructed as one-of-a-kind pieces in CLO’s true-to-life 3D garment simulation software before being rendered in real form, while all participants will gain access to business mentorship and an undisclosed monetary prize, among other rewards.
