Pure, Moda and Scoop organiser lays out future vision

ITE Group has announced a three-year investment plan to further support the growth of its fashion trade shows through new appointments, data intelligence and a focus on educational content.

Moda

Speaking at Moda at the NEC Birmingham this week, ITE regional director Julie Driscoll said the shows will continue to run as separate entities even though they are now part of the group’s Fashion Portfolio.

ITE Group added Pure to its list of fashion events last year as part of a £300m acquisition of the Ascential Exhibitions Business. Moda, Jacket Required and Scoop complete the Fashion Portfolio.

“This is the first time all the shows (Pure London incorporating manufacturing and sourcing expo Pure Origin, Moda, Jacket Required and Scoop) have been part of the same portfolio. Each show has its own wonderful identity and distinct USP’s. We now offer a show for every buyer and a show for every brand or designer,” said Driscoll, UK regional director at ITE Group.

“Our three-year plan will see investment across the shows including new appointments, shared intelligence and data analysis, the development of our educational content programmes and the continued commitment towards sustainability through our Power of One campaign. Working together as a portfolio, each show benefits from the knowledge and experience of the teams and their networks, but they will continue to be run separately as they are each unique.”

Dimitri Gabellier was named winner of the inauguralHistory in the Making Footwear Design Competition - Moda

She presented the new vision during the latest edition of Moda, held on 17-19 February at the NEC in Birmingham. One of the UK’s largest fashion trade events, it features more than 400 exhibitors from the UK and around the world each season.

On Monday, Moda also launched a footwear design competition in collaboration with the De Montford University Footwear Design BA (Hons) course. With a focus on heritage, the History in the Making Footwear Design Competition asked entrants to design and develop a footwear range that interprets fashion influences, materials and colour trends for the AW19 season. Dimitri Gabellier was named winner.

Additionally, the event championed diversity through the ‘This is Me’ theme, with models of all ages and cultures walking the catwalk to present real fashion for real people.
