Project and MRKet merge for February show in Las Vegas

Published
Jan 26, 2017

Things are changing again for Project and MRket. A rep for the trade shows confirmed with Fashion Network that Project and MRket will merge for the February show in Las Vegas.

The merge is a change in direction for UBM, which announced in November that Project and MRket would share the show floor in February. Project and MRket held their first partnered show in July 2016 in New York City after UBM acquired MRket and a number of trade shows from Business Journals Incorporated.

Lizette Chin, VP of Menswear for MRket said to the press, “We found there is a lot of duplication of product categories at the August shows so we’re foregoing MRket and rolling it into Project. The whole point of our merger was to unify. MRket skews classic so there’s a place for it to exist side by side to Project in New York and promoted as a separate entity.”

Chin also said that the MRket banner is going to remain in New York City for “men’s specialty stores and tailored guys” according to UBM President of Men’s Erik Ulin.

Project and MRket held its New York City show this week at Jacob Javits Center from January 23 through 25.
