Private equity firm acquires stake in Premium

Premium Exhibitions, the organizer of the eponymous exhibition in Berlin, has announced investment by Dutch firm Waterland. The firm has taken over the shares of Norbert Tillmann, partner and co-CEO, who left the organization a year ago amidst conflict. Anita Tillmann and Florian Bachelin have meanwhile retained their stakes. The distribution of ownership has not been disclosed. In 2013, however, Norbert Tillmann held a one-third stake, according to the German press.

Premium will begin on January 19.

The details of the transaction have not been disclosed. Waterland, a private equity firm specializing in SOHOs and SMEs with a turnover between 10 and 200 million euros, is expanding its "Leisure and Luxury" segment.

Anita Tillmann, who shares the same last name as her former partner out of pure coincidence, is delighted to have found a solution with Norbert, and an investor that will be able to help develop the show.

Premium, which will bring together about 1,000 brands between January 19 and 21, was founded in 2003. Sister shows include Seek and Premium Order Munich, in collaboration with the organizers of Munich Fabric Start.
