Primark opens its largest Portuguese store in Porto

Fast fashion multinational Primark has opened a new store in Porto's NorteShopping, replacing its former space in the mall with a 50% larger location that features Portugal's first Primark Beauty Studio.

The newly relocated store spreads over 5,138 square metres and employs more than 300 assistants, 50 more than the previous location. Conceived in line with Primark's latest store design, the space has 54 fitting rooms, 48 checkouts, free WiFi access and a lounge area for customers.

As well as being the brand's largest store in Portugal, the new location is also the first in the country to host a Primark Beauty Studio. The space is managed by Portuguese brand Dez StudioXpress and will offer manicures, pedicures, and eyebrow and lash treatments, with prices starting at 5 euros.

In terms of fashion, the store will not only stock Primark's women's, men's and children's apparel collections, as well as footwear, accessories, lingerie and homeware, but also the brand's new sustainable lines, which include denim, pyjamas and bedding in 100% sustainable cotton.

In a release, Nelson Ribeiro, Primark's area manager for Portugal, guaranteed that the retailer's new store in NorteShopping "offers a better shopping experience" to consumers in Greater Porto and the surrounding area.

Founded in Dublin in 1969, Primark currently boasts 370 stores in 12 countries (Ireland, the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Austria, France, the U.S., Italy and Slovenia) and employs more than 75,000 people.

Having arrived in Portugal in 2009, Primark now has 10 stores on the market. Along with its location in NorteShopping, the brand has stores in the following malls: Braga Parque, Parque Nascente, Forum Coimbra, Forum Sintra, UBBO, Centro Colombo, Almada Forum, Aqua Portimão and Mar Shopping Algarve.
