Première Vision links with Fashion Source for new China tradeshow

Published
Feb 11, 2020

Organisers may have been cancelling trade shows in China in recent weeks, but some organisers are looking to the future and on Tuesday, Première Vision announced the launch of a new event in China this November.

Première Vision

It will be “a side-by-side show in the heart of Fashion Source,” which is one Asia’s key textile and fashion trade shows, happening twice-yearly in Shenzhen.

PV said the new event “will bring together a creative range of materials – yarns, fabrics, accessories, leathers, textile designs – from a broad selection of Asian and European producers”.

And it added that the new show “will enable the group to establish a position in China in this market that — looking beyond the current health situation — is expected to become the world’s largest in terms of clothing and luxury goods as of 2025”.

It’s a reflection of just how important the Chinese fashion sector is becoming, not just as a sourcing hotspot as in the past, but as a giant, maturing consumer market too.

PV has had a presence in China for 16 years via a promotional office and events held in Shanghai and Beijing. But the new link-up with the GL Events-owned Fashion Source is a step that should boost this presence. Fashion Source is a major name in China and is the leading apparel sourcing trade fair in the south of the country.

Of course, PV also has history with GL Events as the latter is actually is a co-shareholder of the French tradeshows powerhouse alongside the Première Vision Association.
