Visual bookmarking tool Pinterest has revealed what colours its Pinning community are choosing to pin for spring 2016.

Blush pinks are the most popular hues to pin when it comes to women's fashion, up 20% this year, with a 100% increase since February. Rose quartz pins have increased by 200%. Mint green is also popular, with the colour being pinned 40% more since December.

When it comes to men's fashion, the most popular colour is "astronaut blue", which is up 100% this year. Chambray is up 10%, possibly due to the weather in the western hemisphere getting warmer and men feeling like dressing lighter for spring.

Hair and beauty hues are getting more dramatic - dark blues were up 25% and dark greens up 30%. However, lavender hues are also popular and increased by 30%. For home decor, Pinterest says grey is "the new neutral" with a 20% increase, while mauve is majorly popular, up 70%.

Pantone also chose rose quartz as it's colour of the year for 2016, together with the tranquil blue "Serenity," which could partly explain the shade's popularity with colour-savvy pinners.
