Parfums Christian Dior has just appointed Alexis Barichella as its new international communications director. He will officially take on his new role from January 4, 2023, succeeding long-time executive of the luxury brand, Jérôme Pulis, who has been in charge of the global communication strategy, event organisation and management of the brand's ambassadors for the past 16 years.

After obtaining a master's degree in luxury brand marketing and international management from the Institut Supérieur de Marketing du Luxe, Alexis Barichella began his professional career in 1999 at Louis Vuitton. He became senior vice-president of the Karla Otto agency in Paris in March last year, having previously held a number of roles specialising in communications and public relations for luxury brands.

Barichella spent four years as communications and marketing director for Escada in France, before becoming press and public relations director in the French market for the Italian brand Gucci in 2011. Almost five years later, the specialist joined Yves Salomon, where he managed the brand's communications department for just over four years, before taking charge of press and events at Alaïa, an experience that lasted only one year.

In his new position dedicated to beauty and fragrances, Barichella will report directly to Olivier Bialobos, chief communications and image officer of One Dior, and Claudia Marcocci, chief marketing officer of Parfums Christian Dior.

Parfum Christian Dior forms part of the LVMH group's brand portfolio. The French conglomerate's third quarter results, presented in October, reported a total turnover of 19.75 billion euros. Meanwhile, the perfume and cosmetics division grew by 10% to 1.9 billion euros.
