Oxford Street launches second Beyond Now sustainability campaign

Published

London’s Oxford Street has launched a second sustainability awareness campaign. Actress and activist Amy Jackson is fronting the campaign and there will be a Beyond Now 2022 event to be staged from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 April.

Actress/activist Amy Jackson headlines Oxford Street's Beyond Now 2022

Featuring a series of sustainability-focussed experiences, events and workshops, as well as the launch of responsible products, the campaign sees key retailers taking part. These include Selfridges offering resale, rental, repair and refill services, Adidas hosting a trainer cleaning workshop and Boots staging a plastic-free-period event. John Lewis, Nike, Asics, The Body Shop and Lush are also participating.

Meanwhile, especially for the event, Jackson has also curated an Oxford Street Beyond Now Edit featuring 70 products across fashion, wellness and homewares.

Her spring/summer fashion capsule collection has been handpicked from over 20 Oxford Street brands’ responsible/conscious collections.

It also features  curated wellness and homeware edits chosen from a range of cruelty-free and recycled products. All products are available in-store throughout the campaign.

The campaign highlights an “ever-evolving journey that some of the UK’s most beloved brands are on to create a brighter future for our high street, enabling us to shop and socialise more responsibly”.

And the Oxford Street event also comes with a pledge, The Beyond Now Promise that invites shoppers to join its collective commitment, #mybeyondnowpromise, by submitting their personal promises to drive change towards a brighter future, no matter how big or small. By submitting a promise, shoppers can win £500 to spend in their favourite stores, as well as a ‘responsible day out’ on Oxford Street.

Luciana Magliocco, Oxford Street Associate Director, said: “Our brands are looking to the future and reviewing their offering more closely in order to become more responsible. We are already seeing exciting developments in the way of new products, rental, refill and repair services. As an iconic shopping destination, we continue to endeavour to make a difference to people and the planet, and journey on towards a sustainable future.”
