Over 70 emerging brands to launch on QVC and HSN in 2020

Qurate Retail Group-owned shopping networks QVC and HSN will be launching over 70 new brands discovered through their nationwide search, “The Big Find”, before the end of this year. The newcomers will be offering shoppers cosmetics, jewelry and accessories, among other products.

21 new beauty brands, including Act & Acre, Mented Cosmetics, Alkaglam and Follain, will be making their debut on the two platforms in 2020, along with seven jewelry brands, such as Valencia Key Jewelry and Taudrey, and seven accessories brands, including Have Some Fun Today.

Being featured by QVC and HSN, which operate through broadcasts, websites, apps and social pages, represents an important growth opportunity for the emerging brands, offering a completely different kind of exposure from that which a business could achieve by having its products stocked by a brick-and-mortar store or a transactional e-commerce site.

“As the pioneers of video commerce and brand storytelling, we've launched or nurtured some of the nation's most successful entrepreneurial brands, such as IT Cosmetics, Tatcha, Junior's Cheesecake, Korres, and others," commented Mary Campbell, Qurate Retail Group’s chief merchandising officer and QVC U.S.’s chief commerce officer, in a release.

“By supporting entrepreneurs, we continue to bring customers innovative new brands, often with a high degree of exclusivity,” she added. “We're constantly on the hunt for promising entrepreneurs with compelling products.”

The Big Find was launched in June 2019, attracting over 650 applicants from the U.S. and 12 other countries, including South Africa, Australia, Singapore, South Korea and India.

These entrepreneurs were whittled down to 270 semi-finalists, who met QVC and HSN buyers in August, with each applicant being given 10 minutes to make their pitch.

Not only will the winning entrepreneurs see their products featured on QVC and HSN, but they will also receive mentoring sessions from the founders and brand leaders that make up the platforms’ vendor community, including the people behind brands such as Mally Beauty, Laura Geller, Vionic shoes and Beauty Bioscience.

Founded in 1982, HSN reaches some 96 million households with its broadcasts and features more than 50,000 product videos on its website. QVC was founded in 1986 and currently has retail operations in the U.S., the UK, Germany, Japan and Italy, as well as a joint venture in China.
