Dior and Rizzoli New York publishers have issued "The Dior Sessions," a coffee table book which retraces the Kim Jones' first year at Dior via a series of shots and portraits taken by Nikolai von Bismarck. It is available this autumn for US$125.

The book contains no fewer than 130 photographs, including some never-before-seen shots taken on the eve of Kim Jones's first Dior show - Rizzoli New York

In the Spring of 2018, Dior announced a major change at the head of its menswear collections: Creative Director Kris Van Assche, at the head of the house's menswear for 11 years, was to be replaced by Kim Jones.

The designer, whose designs honor Christian Dior's heritage while offering modern allure, brought huge crowds to his first show in June of the same year with Victoria Beckham, Virgil Abloh, Karl Lagerfeld, Robert Pattinson, A$ap Rocky, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, and Takashi Murakami in the front row.

This first, spectacular show -- including the impressive 10-meter sculpture by artist Kaws -- is immortalized in this beautiful book from Rizzoli, along with the rest of his first year at Dior.

The book honors the work, savoir-faire, creativity, and visionary spirit of the British designer, and notes his modern reinterpretation of tailoring with hints of streetwear. His passion for art echoes that of Christian Dior himself, who was a gallerist and collector before founding his couture house.

The book contains no fewer than 130 photographs, including some never-before-seen shots taken on the eve of Kim Jones's first Dior show. The tome also features portraits of celebrities and friends of the English designer, by Nikolai von Bismarck, or  the house, including Robert Pattinson, Marc Jacobs, David Beckham, Bella Hadid, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Lila Grace Moss.

The book's preface was written by Alexander Fury, the Financial Times' men's fashion critic and fashion features director of AnOther magazine..

Dior has announced that profits from the sale of this book will be given to the Teenage Cancer Trust, a non-profit organization which works to provide treatment and support to adolescents fighting cancer.
