The New York Men's fashion week is now part of the international circuit, and its third edition promises to be richer and more comprehensive.

The event was launched exactly a year ago, in July 2015, by the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America), the body comprising the leading US fashion brands, and from 11th to 14th July it will showcase nearly 65 menswear collections for Spring/Summer 2017.

After London, Milan and Paris, it is now New York's turn to host men's fashion - CFDA

The calendar includes over 50 shows, compared to 48 last January. About thirty shows will be held at the Clarkson Square Skylight, at 550 Washington Street, the headquarters of the New York Men's Fashion  Week.

Six brands will show at the recently opened Cadillac House venue, while 13 designers, as the CFDA stated in a press release, have opted for new presentation formats, to draw closer to consumers and ride the 'see now, buy now' trend.

Eight new names have joined the New York calendar: OAK, Assembly New York, N-P-Elliott, Bespoken, Linder, David Hart x Hart Schaffner Marx, Katama and C.P. Company, which was recently sold by Italian group FGF to Hong Kongese company Tristate Holdings.

Among the regulars in this third edition, there will be Tim Coppens, Michael Kors, Robert Geller, N. Hoolywood, Gypsy Sport, Loris Diran and Ovadia & Sons, on Tuesday; Coach, John Elliott, Rochambeau, Nautica, Thaddeus O’Neil, Nick Graham and Tommy Hilfiger, on Wednesday; Todd Snyder, Orley, Timo Weiland, Siki Im and John Varvatos, on Thursday.

Among the absentees, Michael Bastian and Thom Browne, Billy Reid, Calvin Klein Collection, Duckie Brown, Craft Atlantic and Greg Lauren, who are off the calendar for the first time, as is Public School, which decided to show its men's and women's collections in one single event scheduled for June and December.
