New Piaget boss marks CEO female-first for Richemont

Following Richemont's announcement that Piaget CEO Philippe Leopold-Metzger is retiring, the luxury group has revealed his successor -- ​Chabi Nouri, the first female to take on a global CEO role across Richemont's watch and jewellery brands.

Piaget has confirmed that Nouri will replace current brand chief Leopold-Metzger as CEO, effective April 1.

Nouri joined Piaget in 2014, after spending ten years at Cartier and six years at British American Tobacco. She started out Piaget's global brand equity, marketing jewellery and communication director, before being promoted to international managing director sales & marketing, in September 2016.

"[Nouri's] mission at Piaget is to modernize and rejuvenate the new positioning and ambition of the brand, while capitalizing on its history and unique heritage; as well as leveraging its development strategy across the world and launch a new managerial dynamic," said Piaget in a statement.

Leopold-Metzger leaves after a career spanning 36 years at Piaget. He will become a non-executive president of Piaget after retiring on March 31, said the Richemont-owned watchmaker and jeweller.

Nouri’s appointment as CEO follows a slew of management updates for Richemont Group. It was revealed earlier in 2017 that CEOs at Dunhill, Jaeger-LeCoultre and Vacheron Constantin are also leaving or retiring.

Andrew Maag, an ex-Burberry executive, was recently named as the new CEO of Dunhill. Details of Riedo’s and Torres’ successors are not yet known.
