MySize offers online apparel retailers digital sizing solution

Published

MySize, Inc. announced on Monday that it has opened registrations for retailers wishing to integrate its apparel-focused MySizeID measurement app into their third party-run e-commerce platforms.

The company has developed a version of its sizing solution that can be easily integrated into online stores and is now making it available for use on third party e-commerce platforms.

The MySizeID app utilizes propriety technology allowing consumers to measure themselves with their smartphones and then use these measurements to be matched with the correct size of branded apparel. Consumers can also create a personal sizing profile.

The service aims to address one of the most common problem points for e-commerce apparel retail, namely returns made because items do not fit.

According to a Drapers Etail Report cited by MySize, 70% of e-commerce apparel returns are size-related, while 32% of online consumers do not buy items due to uncertainty concerning sizing.

"While large retailers are better equipped to withstand the high cost of size-based returns, these costs are a far bigger burden for smaller and independent retailers who do not have a solution that can provide a better customer experience and improve their bottom line," explained MySize, Inc. CEO Ronen Luzon in a release.

"MySize and its MySizeID solution gives any internet retailer a more accurate and efficient sizing solution to increase sales and minimize returns. Today we take a critical step toward meeting that market need," he concluded.

MySize is not the only company leveraging technology in an attempt to address sizing doubts in order to reduce returns and help e-commerce consumers shop with confidence. Style.me, for example, has offices in New York and Taiwan, and offers a virtual fitting room service that functions with a fully customizable avatar and can already be integrated into online stores as a digital plug-in.

Elsewhere, Dallas, Texas-based sportswear brand Rebel Athletic has developed the Fit Freedom body scanning app available for download on iOS and Android.

Reports also surfaced in May of this year that Amazon is in the process of developing its own body scanning technology

Aside from apparel, MySize Inc. also uses its measurement technology to offer solutions in the DIY, parcel delivery and shipping sectors.

Registrations for retailers interested in integrating MySizeID into their online stores are now open on MySize's website.
