Milano Unica New York a success

Milano Unica New York ends with a positive result.

The very first US edition of the Italian textiles trade show, held from July 21st to 23rd within Texworld & Apparel Sourcing at the Javits Convention Center, during the NYC Textile Week, attracted 1,300 clients representing 700 companies, according to the closing report.

Milano Unica's 20th edition in Milan

The event, which planned for approximately fifty exhibitors, managed in the end to bring together 87 textile firms, representing "textile and accessories excellence, Italian style." 32% of them boasted over 100 years of history, as the event organisers underline.

The United States in 2014 represented the third market for Italian textile exports, with a consolidated value of $250 million, equivalent to over £175 million (+12.3% compared to 2013).  In the first four months of the current year, the increase in Italian textile exports to this market was 18.8% over the same period of the previous year.

The trade show will return to New York in 2016, while the next edition of Milano Unica in Milan will be held from September 8th to 10th.
