Sheffield’s Meadowhall continues to boost its luxury offer with the latest opening this month being for Tag Heuer. The upscale watch brand, for which Aurum Holdings is the British franchisee, has opened only its fifth UK store in the giant mall.

It’s in a 1,820 sq ft space that’s close to fellow jeweller Goldsmiths and mid-market fashion brand Reiss, Importantly, as well as the regular and special edition watches on offer, the store also sells the brand’s eyewear, leathergoods and accessories.

Richard Crowther, asset manager for mall landlord British Land, said: “The arrival of Tag Heuer is a prime example of Meadowhall’s ability to attract aspirational international brands to our tenant mix. Combined with our evolutionary expansion, our offering of standalone stores for big brands confirms our status as a premier regional flagship centre.”

And it’s hard to argue with him. While landlords are fond of talking up their luxury appeal when new stores open, Meadowhall has attracted a raft of higher-end and premium tenants of late, including Flannels, Neal’s yard, The White Company, Ghost, and Hawes & Curtis, to join existing stores such as Hugo Boss, Michael Kors and Kurt Geiger.

The Tag Heuer opening comes as Aurum Holdings continues to build the brand’s presence in major UK shopping destinations, It opened a boutique for the brand in London’s historic Old Spitalfields Market last month and in December last year it opened in Chelmsford in the Bond Street shopping development to add to its existing Manchester and Intu Lakeside stores.

Craig Bolton, executive director at Aurum, referred to the Spitalifields and Meadowhall locations as “world-class”.
