Paris’ football club has a new collaboration, a ready-to-wear capsule collection in partnership with Manish Arora. The fruits of the collaboration were unveiled at Manish Arora’s runway show on September 27, as part of Paris Fashion Week, as the club had previously announced.

The Paris Saint-Germain football team is back on the runway in Paris. After collaborating with the brand Koché in September 2017, the reigning French football champions have returned to the runway this season with Manish Arora. The celebrated brand, known for its technicolour designs, has created a capsule collection using the football team’s club colours. Arora said that he was particularly inspired for the ready-to-wear collection by the French national team’s victory at the most recent World Cup.

“For my second source of inspiration, Paris has always been a place particularly close to my heart, both personally and professionally… I have added my own design style to create unique designs. I also worked with some of the icons of the team like Neymar and Mbappé to create colourful portraits that represent the collection,” said Arora.

The first set from the collection that was previewed before the runway show was a highly feminine look in the colours of the Parisian football team. The skirt and top feature a colourful team logo and a portrait of player Kylian Mbappé. The collection will go on sale in China and India next February.

The French football club, owned by Qatari funds, is looking to acquire new fans outside of Europe and football fans. The recent formalisation of the club’s collaboration with the brand Jordan hopes to give the team more visibility in the US and Asia.

Michael Jordan, who is attending the ongoing Ryder Cup, attended the Paris Saint-Germain match on September 26 at the Parc des Princes for its victory against Reims. Jordan was presented with a number 23 jersey by the team’s President, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.
