MAC Cosmetics kicks off carnival season with a colorful new makeup line

The famous beauty brand is celebrating the carnival season with a new makeup collection bursting with color and sparkle. The "Carnival Fantastic" makeup line goes on sale from February.

Synonymous with dancing, partying, feathers and costumes, the carnival season will be bringing its festive magic to a host of cities worldwide. As an important part of carnival-goers' prep, the art of applying makeup takes center stage at this time of year, playing with textures, colors and light.

With this new collection, MAC Cosmetics celebrates carnivals the world over, inviting beauty fans to have fun with a new set of essentials, creating looks that are bursting with life, joy and optimism. The products in the collection are of course packed with vibrant colors and glittery sparkles for full festive effect.

Eyes get subtle shimmer thanks to "Dazzleshadow" eyeshadow in several shades, including "Let's Boogie," an iridescent black, "Let's Roll," a bronze red, and "I Like 2 Watch," a brown with golden highlights. This is matched with "In Extreme Dimension Waterproof Lash Mascara" in deep black and "Liquidlast" eyeliner in black, silver or copper.

Lips aren't left out of the picture either. MAC Cosmetics proposes a selection of lip colors ranging from a matte red with a hint of blue ("Ruby Woo") to nude ("Soleil Soleil") and brown ("Coco-del-Rio"), as well as several "Dazzleglass" lip glosses in a selection of iridescent and metallic shades.

Glitter -- in five shades, including 3D versions -- and the "Prep + Prime Fix +" mist in a golden hue complete the collection, due out in February via the MAC Cosmetics e-store.
