President and founder of Italian eyewear brand Luxottica, Leonardo del Vecchio, on Wednesday submitted Adil Mehboob-Khan as a candidate for co-CEO in charge of the group's markets, according to a press release.

If Adil Mehboob-Khan, currently President of Wella (Procter & Gamble) sees his application approved during the Board of Directors meeting scheduled for 29 October, he would start with the company at the beginning of January 2015, specifies Luxottica. From now until his arrival, Massimo Vian, the other co-CEO of Luxottica, will fill his role, according to the press release.

The administrators have also decided to appoint Marco Mangiagalli as a member of the human resources committee as a replacement for Roger Abravanel, who recently resigned.

Luxottica, one of the most successful success stories in the Italian business world in the past few years, has been rocked over the last few months by the resignations of Andrea Guerra, after ten years as its CEO, and just a few weeks later by that of one of his successors, Enrico Cavatorta. According to the Italian press, both of these departures are due to clashes with Leonardo del Vecchio, whose family owns a 61.35% capital in Luxottica.
