Louis Vuitton Knightsbridge is ramraid victim for third time

Published
Jan 25, 2017

One of Louis Vuitton’s key stores, the Knightsbridge boutique in London, has been ramraided for a third time in just two-and-a-half years with a van used to smash the front window of the Sloane Street store.

Louis Vuitton lost £120,000 worth of product in two previous ramraids

The thieves took sacks of branded product and escaped on mopeds after abandoning the van at the scene.

The raid happened early Monday morning with a guest at a nearby hotel filming the events and telling the police that it took just a few minutes.

The raiders’ haul appears to have mainly comprised Louis Vuitton bags, although some items that they dropped included men’s wallets.

The store previously lost £70,000 worth of inventory in June 2014 in a similar raid, although the thieves were caught and jailed early the following year.

Another group of thieves escaped with £50,000 worth of goods by smashing the glass front door in July 2015.

Central London ramraiding appeared to have gone quiet after a Chanel store was robbed exactly a year ago until this week. The value of the stock stolen in this latest is currently not known.
