With the Baselworld watch and jewelry show opening its doors March 17-24 in Basel, Switzerland, watchmaker Longines has unveiled a new 2016 line of "DolceVita" watches that match steel with 18-karat rose gold.
Since its creation in 1997, Longines has regularly added new models to its "DolceVita" collection, bringing softer curves and a wider choice of dials, including options finished in black lacquer and set with diamonds, or white mother-of-pearl with or without diamond indexes. The range features models with black, red or white alligator straps and others with stainless steel straps.
For 2016, the watchmaker is releasing a new steel and 18-karat rose gold "DolceVita" watch, inspired by the Italian way of life.
This year's model has a rectangular stainless steel case with a solid rose gold crown. It comes in a version set with diamonds and a version without, each of which is available in four different sizes.
There's a choice of dials too. A silver "flinqué" dial comes with painted Roman numerals, or black lacquer and white mother-of-pearl dials come with diamond indices. All options feature the Longines winged hourglass logo in rose gold and come with a stainless steel strap with rose gold cap and butterfly clasp.
The watch uses a quartz movement to track hours and minutes, and some versions have a small seconds function at 6 o' clock. The 2016 "DolceVita" watch is water-resistant to 30 meters.
