Loewe launches capsule celebrating Chinese Year of the Rabbit
Loewe is celebrating the Chinese Year of the Rabbit by launching a capsule collection starring rabbits, consisting of handbags, clothing and other accessories.
The collection entitled 'The Year of the Rabbit' has the Loewe Bunny bag as its star piece, which is shaped like a rabbit and made of kappa calfskin or shearling. The collection also includes some of the brand's signature pieces such as the Hammock, Basket and Pocket bags, which feature knotted rabbit ears made of leather or raffia.
"In Asian cultures, the knot signifies human connection as well as good fortune, and artisans create exquisite knots as ornaments and gifts that express good wishes," the Spanish house explained.
The collection is rounded out with T-shirts and sweaters that display the pattern used in the workshops for the knotted ears, as well as bunny-shaped candles and small ornaments in the same silhouette.
Available for sale since January 5, actress Tang Wei presented the capsule collection in an advertising campaign "that celebrates how this special time of the year brings people together," said the brand.
"The video is accompanied by a series of portraits and still lifes that celebrate the nuances of the Year of the Rabbit from a bright-eyed, fluffy-tailed perspective, while highlighting the joy of making things by hand and how craftsmanship can give everyday objects a soul," concluded Loewe, which with this launch pays tribute to one of its key markets, China.
