American fashion writer Leandra Medine Cohen – perhaps best known for having founded the Man Repeller blog in 2010 – has teamed up with Hamburg-based ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories brand Closed to create a six-piece capsule collection for Fall 2021.

Seeking to combine Medine Cohen’s witty and eclectic stylings with Closed’s contemporary edge, the collection aims to offer a set of casual wardrobe essentials that can be mixed and matched to create a range of different looks.

The capsule features a jacket, khaki pants, jeans, a shirt, a cardigan and a balaclava. Fabrics used include double-face wool, recycled cashmere, organ cotton moleskin, organic cotton and wool, with glass beads, pearl buttons and black velvet being used for embellishments and details.

The collection’s jacket pairs double-face navy wool with recycled cashmere and features a boxy, cropped silhouette, black velvet details and metallic buttons. According to Closed, it’s perfect to wear with the capsule’s khaki pants, which have a high-waisted, straight-leg cut and are made from organic cotton moleskin.

The jeans are also high-waisted and straight-legged, boasting five pockets and a zippered fly. The shirt, like the jeans, is made of Italian eco-denim, and features pearl buttons and two chest pockets.

Finally, both the cardigan and the balaclava are made of burgundy wool, with the former offering a rounded neckline and cropped wrists, while the latter can also be worn as a hooded dickey.

Each piece in the collection features a message from Medine Cohen on the care label, including phrases such as, “Buy pink tulips. Love, Leandra” and “Call someone you love. Love, Leandra.” Prices for the pieces range from $215 to $640.

A percentage of the proceeds from the collection’s sales will go to WIN NYC, a non-profit that works to provide safe housing and critical services for homeless women and their children.

The Closed x Leandra Medine Cohen capsule launches in October 2021, when it will be available to purchase on the Closed e-commerce platform, as well as in select Closed brick-and-mortar locations.
