La Vallée Village ranks first among outlet centres in Europe

La Vallée Village has pulled ahead of Roermond in the Netherlands to take first place among European outlet malls in terms of sales — such are the results of a study by the German Institute Ecostra, conducted for the first time in its five-year history together with French research firm Magdus. The study is based on the statements of 92 companies representing 144 brands and who operate at least three clearance stores in Europe. Ecostra also only surveys centers that have been in business for at least two full years.

La Vallée Village outlet centre is close to Disneyland Paris.

In 2012, American-owned Value Retail took second place with its Bicester Village Shopping Outlet near Oxford, England, also ahead of Roermond in Holland, which is managed by McArthurGlen. Value Retail also operates an outlet center in the Paris region.

Two outlet malls belonging to Concepts & Distribution tied for fourth place — the Marques Avenue centers in France in l’île-Saint-Denis and Romans sur Isère. With three centers in the top 10, France achieved the best national ranking. The worst performing centers in Europe include the l'Usine Côte d'Opale, Unibail-Rodamco and Messancy in Belgium from McArthurGlen.
