Karl Lagerfeld collaborates with Mattel

Published

Always happy to collaborate with pop culture icons, Karl Lagerfeld has now teamed up with the most famous doll out there: Barbie. As a result, a Karl Lagerfeld Barbie will be released worldwide this fall.

The leather gloves, the shirt, white hair, sunglasses, jewelry and an XXL silver necklace: the whole Karl Lagerfeld wardrobe is there in the first sketch divulged by the brand. "It's not every day that Barbie dresses like the world's most famous fashion designer," said Kim Culmone, vice president of global product design for Barbie.

Previously, a collaboration with the Japanese street artist Shin Tanaka involved toys revamped in “Karl" style. The brand also collaborated with Tokidoki on comic books a few seasons ago. The collaboration recently gave birth to a collection of baseball caps co-produced with New Era.
