Harrods has announced that Amanda Hill is leaving her role as marketing chief in November after 18 months.

Citing family commitments for her resignation, Hill said she is stepping down as Harrods’ first ever joint chief marketing and customer officer to rejoin her family in the US.

She joined the popular luxury destination in 2018 as part of Harrods’ efforts to embrace digital and adapt to the changing retail landscape.

During her short tenure, Hill was responsible for marketing, insight and creative content, ensuring they were at the centre of the company’s strategy and driving a customer-centric approach.

Harrods said she helped build a “strong” leadership team across the divisions of marketing and communications, creative and editorial, visual merchandising, partnerships, customer services, customer insights, digital strategy, performance marketing, personal shopping and concierge.

The prestigious department store has already begun the process of finding a replacement.
