In her role, Lomanto will be focused on coordinating Gucci collection and retail merchandising, as well as visual merchandising, beauty and eyewear licensing and retail training, the Italian fashion house confirmed with FashionNetwork.com via email.

She joins Gucci from Roger Vivier, where she served as chief executive officer of the Tod's-owned luxury company in Paris.

A luxury veteran, Lomanto started her career at Jil Sander, before heading to Yves Saint Laurent in Parisian brand's wholesale department.

Subsequently, she moved to hold various positions within the Prada Group, including leather goods merchandising and marketing director of Prada, retail director of Prada France, before finally becoming WW retail director and later general manager of Miu Miu.

The appointment comes on the back of a stellar year for Gucci, owned by French conglomerate, Kering Group.

Kering revealed in most recent trading update in late February, Gucci -- which accounts for over half of the Kering's revenue and for three quarters of its operating income -- recorded a 31% revenue rise year-on-year to €9.73 billion in 2021, going back to its pre-pandemic levels.
