Abercrombie & Fitch Co’s Gilly Hicks label is to set foot in Ireland for the first time with news that it has signed up for a store in Belfast’s Victoria Square.

The signing by the activewear, loungewear and underwear specialist comes shortly after it opened on London’s Carnaby Street as part of its overall UK expansion plans.

The new Belfast store will be only the third Gilly Hicks location in Europe (it also has a store in Germany that opened earlier this year).

The store’s fitting rooms will feature light and music controls to cater to each customer’s preferences. Additionally, it’s going to be equipped with Click & Collect, Order in Store, Reserve in Store capabilities, and handheld devices that allow customers to avoid the checkout line, and more.

The expansion for the brand isn’t only about new stores though and it’s also adding new products to its line-up, as well as continuing with its reimagined brand purpose that sees it aiming to offer goods that match everyone’s styles, regardless of gender identity.

Russell Banham, UK Head at Commerz Real, said the signing “underlines the significance of Victoria Square as Northern Ireland’s leading retail and leisure destination and shows the key value the brand places on the retail opportunity in Northern Ireland.”
