Gallery Shoes, the new footwear show replacing GDS in Düsseldorf, has confirmed a raft of signings to the inaugural event at the industrial event hall Areal Böhler on 27-29 August.

Our goal was to represent 500 international brands on the first edition of Gallery Shoes. By the beginning of May, already 400 brands had confirmed they will be present at the Areal Böhler in August 2017,” said Ulrike Kähler, project director of the new trade fair.

The show will be divided into five sectors (Premium, Contemporary, Urban, Comfort and Kids) which will be presented within an international context, said Kähler.

Areal Böhler has five venues with a total indoor space of nearly 13,000 sq mts and an additional 10,000 sq mts of outdoor space.

The Premium area will be housed in Areal Böhler’s Kaltstahlhalle stocking products from brands such as Abro, billi bi Copenhagen, Calvin Klein, Candice Cooper, Chie Mihara, Floris van Bommel, Fred de la Bretonier, G.H. Bass, Hundred 100, Juicy Couture, Karl Lagerfeld, Katy Perry Collection, Lola Cruz, Pertini, Primabase and RAS.

Contemporary and Urban will be featured in three different venues within Areal Böhler, including the Alten Schmiedehallen, Halle am Wasserturm and Alte Kesselhaus. Meanwhile, the Comfort Zone will be presented in the Alte Federnfabrik and the Glühofenhalle.

Brands from Germany, France, Austria and Spain will include Berkemann, Briggs, Bonova, Christian Dietz, Fidelio, Finn Comfort, Ganter, Jomos, Manz, PieSanto, Semler, Ströber and Vital.

GDS announced at the end of its last event in February that the trade fair would change its name to reflect a new focus on European suppliers and the medium high end segment.

The new proposition expects to attract more international exhibitors, particularly from countries like Italy, Spain, Portugal, France and the Netherlands.
