Gap's E-commerce goes global

With annual sales of 11.5 billion Euros in tow, Gap Inc. will launch its website in 65 new countries. First on the list are Australia, Brazil, Mexico, then Canada and Europe.

This marks an important international milestone for the company, because for the first time customers outside of the U.S. can shop online and have items shipped from Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Piperlime and Athleta buying websites. As its global presence grows, so does its e-commerce site.

In partnership with international e-commerce expert, Fiftyone, Toby Lenk president of Gap Inc. Direct confirms that it has “put together an aggressive program to grow our e-commerce business to make the shopping experience easier and more convenient. We believe that the technology has evolved to the point where we can meet international demand and deliver an outstanding experience."

Chinese consumers will also be able to buy Gap Inc. products online since earlier this year the American group announced its partnership with e-commerce company, Shanghai Yi Shang Network Information Co. Ltd. The site is launched in China this autumn.
