Prior to Gap, O’Hare spent more than a decade at Adidas, in roles from brand director, to VP of global brand communications, before joining Gap in February 2019.

O’Hare was hired to replace Craig Brommers, a marketing executive who stayed with the company for three years.

With her exit, the company said its redefining its CMO role, according to multiple U.S. media reports.

The move follows Gap’s decision in January to end plans to spin-off its Old Navy brand into a separate company.

First announced in March last year, the split was supposed to leave Old Navy free to pursue its own strategic initiatives, given the brand has been a consistent bright spot in its parent company’s portfolio. With the separation no longer going ahead, the troubled apparel group announced that Neil Fiske, president and CEO of the Gap brand, was also leaving the company.

Fiske's exit follows the recent departure of Gap Inc. CEO, Art Peck, who left in November.

Looking ahead, the company said in January it expects annual sales to be down in the range of mid-single digits to low-single digits, at the higher end of its previously reported guidance.

Gap also said it performed better than expected during the holiday season.

Gap is planning to announce its fourth-quarter and full-year fiscal 2019 financial results on February 27, 2020.
