Frame frames the Ritz

Published
Oct 1, 2021

One collab’ that seems destined to become a must-have is the link up between Frame and the Ritz.

Frame, a hipster classics collection that is the brainchild of Erik Torstensson, an affable Norwegian, and the Ritz feted their marriage with a garden cocktail in the Paris hotel Thursday night.

The tag-team with the ultra of Parisian hotels features some great graphics culled from the Ritz’s archives. From gothic scripts featuring the hotel address - for the uninitiated it is 15 Place Vendome - to curly renditions of the emblem of Paris with three fleur-de-lys; to oversized royalist texts.

All seen on plush deep-pile cashmere crewnecks; classic hoodies; baseball jackets with leather sleeves and t-shirts. And with plenty of humor – one sweatshirt reads 'Do Not Disturb'.

“There’s even a canvas workout bag to help keep you in shape,” smiled Torstensson, who also shot the new menswear lookbook for Frame, featuring dashing staff, actors, guys about time and even our old pal George Cortina – a noted stylist and front row dandy.

This link-up will also retail in main shopping passage of hotel, the first time in its history that the Ritz Paris has collaborated with a fashion brand.

“With its experience in luxury clothing for every day, Frame seemed to us to be the ideal choice to affix the Ritz Paris label,” said Natalie Bader Messian, the Ritz board member handling the project.

Priced at between 70 and 2,000 euros, starting Sept. 30, Frame x Ritz Paris will be also be available on net-a-porter.com and in Harrods.
