Flannels' new Southampton store includes first-time Beauty Edit

Published
Nov 9, 2021

The store opening programme for Frasers Group’s luxury chain Flannels is showing no signs of slowing down with the latest new store being in Southampton and also having extra interest. That’s because it includes the firm’s new Beauty Edit concept for the first time.

Flannels

The 22,000 sq ft site opened this week in West Quay shopping centre, housing a curation of men's, women’s and junior luxury designer clothing and accessories from brands including Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Burberry, Dolce and Gabbana, and Versace.

But as mentioned, the biggest news is the beauty offer. The company said of this: “With the vision to disrupt the ‘London centric’ beauty market, [it] will house an all-new Beauty Edit. Offering a mix of key beauty category players from the best in bath and body to fragrance, skincare and colour cosmetics — the edit will connect the best brands in beauty to a wider audience, with plans to open up to 10 Beauty Edit concept spaces in key regional locations by 2025.”

It means big names such as Chloé, Cartier, Moschino and Prada will sit alongside newer names that until now have only had a limited regional presence. They include Boy Smells, Sarah Chapman, Nudestix and Medik8. The Southampton opening also introduces a number of new brands to its beauty offering, including The Inkey List, Kate Somerville, Chantecaille and Living Proof. And it’s also the exclusive bricks-and-mortar stockist of Patrick Ta and Jouer.

Jack Bridges, the retailer’s creative consultant and partner at luxury designer Argent said the new store “builds on the foundations of Flannels’ DNA and marks as the beginning of a key expansion outside of the principal Flannels beauty hall. Showcasing a unique store design and incorporating new concepts — the space has been designed as an extension of [the] flagship stores, providing a retail destination with a unique beauty space, outstanding store designs and exceptional service-led propositions.”
