Fast Fashion Tour: an "interesting experience”

Published
Nov 10, 2011

Just as Fast Fashion Tour closed the doors of its first session, which took place from November 7-8 in London, Eurovet has already hired a hall at the Olympia exhibition centre in May 8-9 in 2012, and also at sometime in October apparently. Even talks of taking the concept to other countries like Spain and Germany are underway.

At the same time, French company Eurovet, the fair’s organiser, is going to allow some time to understand what exhibitors meant by “interesting experience” when describing their time at the fair.

Fast Fashion Tour is innovating by bringing together three different “families”: weavers, co- and subcontractors and classic manufactures corresponding to Eurovet’s fashion trade shows: Tissu Premier, Fatex and Intersélection.

Around 120 exhibitors gathered for the event at Olympia, most of which take part in Eurovet’s other trade shows. According to the organiser, 47% of them were toll manufacturers, 20% weavers, 14% manufactures offering collections, and the rest was divided between furniture manufacturers and textile designers. Most of the exhibitors came from France, Portugal, Turkey, Morocco, Romania, the Mauritius Islands and Tunisia.

According to Hervé Huchet, Eurovet’s fashion division director, around 1,000 visitors attended the event, of which 80% were British and 9.3% French. Sainsbury, Oasis, Topshop. Next, River Island, Wallis, Ted Baker and Marks & Spencer were some of the buyers representing UK retailers who were present. As for French buyers, Armand Thiéry , Grain de Malice, Camaïeu and Émile Lafaurie were among the visitors.

It was thus difficult to define the exact profile of visitors. “We are going to study all of the data in order to confirm our decision”, explained Marie-Laure Bellon-Homps, Eurovet’s president and CEO.
